flea friday: a tiny mascot and a tiny shoe

A couple of tiny mini discoveries from the junking grounds. I don't quite know how I managed to spot them; they are rather small indeed.

The first tiny find is a little bear pin and he's is pure nostalgia for me. He was the mascot for the 1980 Olympic Games held in Moscow. I remember Misha well, even though I was too small to remember the event, but he got quite popular and my little brother and me had various forms of him around in our shared room even years later.

The second ickle thing I picked up is a key ring shaped like a little shoe. It's made with such lovely attention to detail and the leather is so nice it totally charmed me.

These little finds are a response to April's theme Tiny in my monthly challenge.

I reckon that's it from me this month for the link-up... I am having a spring clean and destash so trying not to get too many new old stuff, and even though I am sewing something right now it's far from tiny (it's for this big little boy of mine). I will still post about my sewing as soon as it's ready, but not for the theme of course.

In the meantime, if you have made or thrifted something small tiny or little and fancy joining in with the linky, then do share here!

a thank-you mail

I've received this lovely thank-you letter from Ingrid at ing-things, a blog that truly inspires. (I love all the vintage bits she finds and the colourful crafty stuff she does.)

Ingrid is working on her new crafty book and has been looking for nice old wool labels for it. So as a tiny step toward my long-planned craft destash I sent her a few spools of some vintage tapestry wool I've had. And because she's a lovely and a very giving kind of lady herself, she sent me these little paper things as a thank-you.

She's still welcoming vintage wool labels I think, so if you have some knocking around in your stash maybe drop her an email (if I understood the translation correctly, I think she offered to send all labels back if a self addressed envelope is attached).

easter

Our first Easter as a family.

We have spent it just doing regular things - everybody's diet here has become rather restricted and specific so chocolate eggs is only one thing on a long list we are not eating. Instead I made a very quick and simple but all the more delish sweet out of dates and nuts.

The narcisses I bought to decorate the room had to be relocated to the balcony - my hayfever seems to get worse each year... But they seem to be doing just fine outdoors, even in the minus temperatures and occasional icy rain.

Baby's teeth are pushing now, and all he wants to do is sit (which he can't do by himself yet) or bounce (he can't do that either by himself) all day. He keeps us busy. We sometimes have long conversations like da-da-di-ba-baba-bambi finished off by mightily blown raspberries. He is seven months old in a couple of days.

Hope your Easter weekend has been sunny!
Happy Easter!

Tiny in April | Make, Thrift & Tell

Happy 1st of April people! Shall we start with a joke? Knock knock. Who's there? Needle. Needle who? Needle little more coffee this morning to invent a much better punchline...

Okay, that was a bit tired - aha, see what I did there? *khm* I'm happy to move on now from joking around to introducing the new month's theme: tiny.

Anything tiny, minuscule, miniature, small and little is welcome in the linky. I can foretell that whatever I get to link up myself, it will be made during my tiny amount of free time and will be thrifted with a little bit of luck...
